~Blythe's No Name Crochet Slippers~

A great way to use the beautiful yarn you bought months ago and didn't know what to do with, but wanted to make something purposeful and meaningful, yet pretty. :)

With mom's new crochet rug in the camper!

Very tedious work. :)

Julie's bracelet (made into an anklet ;)) makes the whole look!

And the free pattern (My first on this blog, yay!), for all you who love to crochet! (Limited time only)

Paola Andrea Choque

Well, the Amish aren't really the same in Holmes County! We haven't seen much of them, since they have their own back roads and hardly use the main roads. We saw a few in town and at wal-mart (which was really strange). But other than that, they haven't been out. It has been raining though...

So, I've decided to post about my little girl, Paola Andrea, that I sponsor (with the help of dad on some days). When we went back to GA for the weekend, in May, she had sent me a letter and I thought I'd share it which you all along with pictures:

"Dear Sponsor,

Many greetings, I felt so happy when I known about the special gift you sent to me as money (We had sent it for an Easter gift)

So I able to buy shoes, sneakers and a chest of drawers to keep my notebooks, I'm so grateful for this special moment and I'm in my house with my parents, siblings and the rest of my family.

I attend Carmen School, many greetings to your family and I would like to know you someday and I think I will be on camp, it will be a surprise for me, my parents also wants to send you their warm greetings,

Please do you pray for my family? God bless you enormously, goodbye

Paola Andrea"

I am so blessed by this girl! I have only heard from her twice, yet it seems like its been forever. The pictures are of Paola Andrea and her mother with the things they bought. She is 11 and lives in Bolivia, thats why the letter is a little hard to understand, since they had to translate it into english. I hope to meet her face to face someday. :)

A Really Long Post About the Amish...

When we first arrived in Lancaster County, we saw horse-drawn buggies, Amish men plowing their fields and Amish ladies and children in the garden or hanging their laundry on the line. It's been a great experience!

We met a family while we were here, and attended their annual church campout! We heard a sermon and made s'mores! :)

Something that you don't see in GA...

Oh the outhouse... Fresh Fudge? Free tastes! :D

As a mission project, we had the opportunity to help at a local food bank, where we stacked and organized canned goods for needy families.

The team we worked with:

And of course you can't leave without an Amish tour!!

Homemade Amish soft pretzels to DIE FOR! :)

After a little touring, we met up with our new PA friends for a little fellowship in Lititz, PA:

We are back in the Amish country now, only Ohio instead of Lancaster (Pronounced Lang-Kiss-tur :D). We've enjoyed every minute being in Amish country. It's gonna be hard to leave!

PS- I've changed a few things on my blog, so now anyone and everyone can post without having to have an account, so comment away! :)

We went exploring today (6/5/12) to Mount Vernon. It was fun learning about George Washington and his home. Tomorrow (Or Thursday, not sure yet...) We'll be going to all the Smithsonian Museums. More walking and hurting legs!! Everyones bodies are aching!
